DEC launches appeal for Venezuela earthquake victims

The Disasters Emergency Committee has called an appeal for survivors of the two catastrophic earthquakes which took place in northern Venezuela at the end of June.

More than 3,800 people are known to have died, with thousands injured and thousands more missing. It’s estimated around 2 million people have been affected in the worst hit areas with some sleeping in the streets and lacking power and essential supplies.

As usual, the One World Centre will hold a street collection in support of the DEC Appeal. This will take place in Douglas on Friday 10th July 10am – 2pm and Saturday 11th July 9.30am – 5pm. We will also be at Lake Road Tesco on Saturday 11th July.

Please look out for the red buckets but if you don’t see us, you can also donate online at https://www.dec.org.uk/appeal/venezuela-earthquake-appeal
