Tesco has very kindly allowed us to hold a collection for the DEC Afghanistan Crisis Appeal this Saturday 8th January. You should find volunteers instore from around 10am to 5pm.
Following the launch of the appeal in December, DEC member organisations are already working across all 34 provinces of the country, providing food aid and nutritional treatments, distributing cash grants, supporting farmers to plant seeds, and equipping Afghans with urgently needed winter kits, to help communities cope with plummeting temperatures in the weeks ahead. With an estimated 8 million people on the brink of famine, including 1 million children under the age of five at risk of dying over the next three months, it’s clear more help is needed.
