Oral History Project Begins

At first glance, the Isle of Man may appear an homogeneous society. Scratch the surface and you’ll find that our residents were born in more than 100 countries. When few people in the UK can pinpoint the Isle of Man on a map, how have people from across the world found their way here?

Last night three members of the African community – Sikhu from Swaziland, Nana from Ghana and Bukola from Nigeria shared their stories with Judith Ley from Manx Radio.  You will be able to hear the results, beginning next month, on Manx Radio.  Next year we hope to have an exhibition which will move round Island venues.
