Charity Challenge IoM is an innovative and creative One World Centre initiative, supported by the H&S Davidson Trust, to encourage year 12 students, in teams of 4-6, to become more aware of the quality of life for the majority of the population of the world.
Through researching the work of an NGO supported by the IoM Overseas Aid Budget the students will encounter some of the development issues that youngsters are facing on a daily basis - By viewing the impact of the work of the charity through the eyes of a person in that country it is hoped that the students will develop empathy for people in other parts of the world.
All of the teams use their research to create a multimedia presentation about their chosen charity. Each school selects one of their teams to take part in an inter school final where a panel of judges will award grants to each of the charities represented based on the quality of the presentations.
